What you’re actually doing
Spoiler-free demo pages — invented names, not a real case. Shows the list, how you mark it, a Zarina note, and what opens after you highlight.
One rule
When a clue rules someone out, tick their Out box. Leave the name readable. Optional: write the clue number under # so you remember which note eliminated them.
When the list notes are done, highlight everyone still blank. Those names go on to Records and Files. Do not invent motives on the list — only tick what the note forces.

List note 01 · sample Tick out anyone whose surname starts with A and has more than six letters. Leave the short A-names. Work the notes in order. Do not open Records yet.
Yellow = still in after these notes (what you’d highlight). Black box = Out. Real books run far longer — this is just the shape.
